Lukas Peet

Lukas Peet left his native Canada in 2005 to attend the prestigious industrial design program at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. After graduating at the top of his class in 2009, Lukas returned to Canada and founded Lukas/Peet Design, which is active in the fields of product design, interior design, graphic design and public space. His work has been widely published and exhibited internationally. including his first solo exhibition recently at the Design Exchange in Toronto. Lukas received the inaugural RBC Emerging Designer Award in 2014. In 2013 Lukas co-founded ANDlight is a contemporary lighting company, based in vancouver, british columbia, canada. The company is co-founded by Caine Heintzman and Matt Davis with the intent to challenge existing standards in lighting.

Lukas Peet has been practicing his craft with an aesthetic maturity and fluidity that has commanded recognition, since graduating from the Design Academy of Eindhoven in 2009. He has been recognized internationally in a number of awards and competitions, notable Winner of Canada’s Emerging Designer Award. His designs have been produced by international manufacturers such as Roll & Hill, Umbra Shift, and Karakter. To ANDlight, Lukas brings a vast curiosity about objects, processes, materials and production techniques; he brings his desire to challenge the familiar and the normative, and everything in between.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Working with my hands on new ideas and prototypes. Creating something new.

Motorcycles.

Making a living doing what i love.

On the sunny side of a mountain by a creek.

The ring my father made me (he's a goldsmith).

Designer.

Humour.

David Lynch.

My Dad.

Arrogance.

Don't have any regrets, just make the best choice at the time.
