Bernhardt Design launches Prelude metal-base Guest chairs and Barstools

Bernhardt Design launches Prelude metal-base guest chairs and barstools, the fourth and fifth additions to the Prelude Seating Collection by Valencia-based designers Claudia and Harry Washington. Their inspiration builds on the idea that an enjoyable seating experience provides the perfect “prelude” for the “meaningful activities in our lives, whether it be working, eating, collaborating, or simply lounging,” relays Harry.

To actualize this concept, the designers wanted to “evoke a universally comforting experience, like a warming hug.” Prelude’s backrest “welcomes you with soft curves that gently overlap the seat, covering just enough to suggest an embrace,” says Claudia. The organic lines and flowing contours provide an attractive, inviting shape that delivers style and exceptional support.

Preceded by a variety of wood-base guest, swivel, and lounge chairs, the new metal seating is offered in polished aluminum and powder coat finishes. The guest chair is available with or without arms, and the barstool is offered in both counter and bar height versions. Upholstery options are available in any Bernhardt Textiles’ fabric, leather, or the customer’s own material (COM). Contrasting textiles for the back and seat also present customizable options to accommodate a myriad of styles.
