Alpha Kilo and Joe Waroquier Home Unveil work/shop Nantucket for Nantucket by Design 2025
This July, as part of Nantucket by Design, award-winning PR and events agency, Alpha Kilo, and celebrated interior designer firm Joe Waroquier HOME will unveil Work/Shop Nantucket, an immersive, retail-enabled experience that celebrates process, provenance, and purpose. Taking place at Greater Light, one of Nantucket’s most atmospheric historic properties, the residential-style installation showcases bespoke furniture, textiles, lighting, and objects from leading luxury brands and independent makers, with all products in the space available for purchase or order.
Principal designer Joe Waroquier and his team curated a hand-selected group of some of the finest producers of luxury interiors products in the world, including Araminta Campbell, Corston Architectural Detail, Farrow & Ball, Kravet, Nell Van Vorst, and Sanderson, alongside a select group of local makers and heritage brands. Rather than presenting products in isolation, the exhibition envisions Greater Light as if the original owners, Hanna & Gertrude Monaghan, were alive today, hosting salons amongst bespoke contemporary works and salvaged treasures.
Known for their refined, liveable interiors layered with character and warmth, Joe Waroquier HOME is based in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, servicing clients around the globe. Principal Waroquier approached Greater Light as he would with a residential client, only this time his muses were fellow Philadelphians, the Monaghan sisters themselves, the Quaker designers who transformed Greater Light into an eclectic sanctuary in the late 1920s. The historic house, once a spiritual and artistic haven, will be transformed into a design that constructs an experience: a narrative told through texture, materiality, and sense of place.
The project builds an environment where old-world quality meets contemporary resonance. Each selection reflects Waroquier’s commitment to quality, comfort, and the slow, intentional design that defines his practice. Throughout the space, thoughtfully curated furnishings, textiles, lighting, and objects invite visitors to pause, engage their senses, and appreciate craft over spectacle. The space is neither a set nor a showroom; it’s a story told in quiet details that entices the viewer to bring the products into their own homes.
“It’s not a gallery. It’s not a home. It’s something in between. I designed with feeling in mind. I want people to walk in and pause, sit, and stay awhile; to take the time to admire the beams, the details, the ironwork. To touch and feel the quality of materials and experience the comfort only the embrace of handcrafted goods can deliver, and ultimately bring that sensation home,” designer Joe Waroquier explains. “As I embarked on this journey, I carried with me the mindfulness of craft, inherent sustainability, and refinement. I made the Monaghan sisters my clients and drove a vision of what their life could be like in Greater Light in 2025. I like to think they would be delighted with the outcome and seeing their bohemian home brought to life again in this way.”
