Mortlach Partners with Artist Hisham Akira Bharoocha for 2023 Special Releases
Bharoocha's large-scale custom art installation, entitled Cultural Fluidity, was unveiled last week (October 25th) at the Cristina Grajales Gallery in New York City. Inspired by how Mortlach 'The Katana's Edge' blended Scottish and Japanese cultures, the unique artwork fuses visual cues from both cultures while drawing from Mortlach's rich history in design and craftsmanship. Bharoocha’s piece is part of Mortlach whisky's ongoing collaboration in the design world, following the successful Mortlach by Design program last year.

Hisham Akira Bharoocha is a multimedia artist born in Japan based in New York, working across large-scale murals, paintings, drawings, collages, audio/visual installations, represented in both New York and Japan. Hisham’s work is a visualization of the seemingly disparate connections, and experiences felt through the senses. His work has been published in Artforum, NOWNESS, i-D, V, and Flaunt Magazine to name a few.
