Fondazione MAST Reopens with Uniform Exhibiton

Fondazione MAST, a cultural and philanthropic institution in Bologna (IT), has reopened on July 4, 2020. On show upon reopening is the highly successful exhibition, Uniform: Into the Work/Out of the Work, exploring the nature of workwear, being and appearing, which closed its doors to the public in March as a result of the Covid-19 Outbreak in Italy. Visitors are now able to access special content by the artists exhibiting at Uniform, which have been published during the lockdown period on MAST website as part of their #staysthome digital initiative, on tablets around the exhibition.

In October, Fondazione MAST will open two highly anticipated exhibitions; the MAST Foundation Grant for Industrial Photography 2020 Awards, which aims to give voice to research in photography by the new generation of artists, and discover their visions on the worlds of industry, technology, territory, and labour, and Inventions 1915-1938 | From the Gasmask to the Washing Machine, showcasing largely unknown photographs and films produced between 1915 and 1938 in France as part of a national policy encouraging new scientific and industrial research.

In compliance with health regulations, Fondazione MAST has implemented a series of protocols that ensure the safety of its visitors. These include:

  • Access to the exhibition by reservation only, with maximum admittance of 6 people per tour accompanied by a guide.

  • A time limit of 1 hour per visit.

  • Body temperature scans upon entry, with rejected entry to anyone reporting 37.5°C or higher.

  • Provision of face mask and disposable gloves to all visitors. Their use is compulsory within the Foundation.

  • A requirement of 1 metre distance between all visitors and staff.

  • The visitors must follow the indicated route.
