The Deck Launches, Focused on Bringing Bespoke Tailoring to Women

In April 2019, Daisy Knatchbull launched a new fashion brand, The Deck - a made to order tailoring brand focused exclusively on women. Bridging the gap between contemporary and classic styles, The Deck draws on traditional tailoring methods to bring customised, made to order suiting to women.

Historically, suits have been reserved for men, signs of their power and dominance in the workplace. However, as women have entered the workplace in droves in the last century, they too have begun to experiment with suiting, taking back the figurative power and playing with cut, colour, material and pattern.

“Women have always been an afterthought in the tailoring industry, but I want to bring them the level of service and quality their male counterparts have been experiencing for years,” says founder Daisy Knatchbull.

Drawing from the craft of bespoke tailoring, The Deck takes a clean approach to design. They offer four distinct silhouettes - representative of the four suits in a deck of cards -The Heart, The Spade, The Club and The Diamond - that flatter and frame the body using classically beautiful cloths. The made to order offering allows for a custom design process that considers all elements including shape, size, and lifestyle. Inspired by Anne Klein’s famous words, “Female suiting isn’t going to change the world, but the women who wear them will.” The Deck has a distinct purpose in the empowerment of women who wear these suits to become the women they want to be - powerful and fearless leaders.
